Vans Future Footwear Design

The FUTURE FOOTWEAR Project challenges students to imagine the future of footwear by responding to an assignment from the Vans design team, such as designing an AI-powered, sustainable Vans sneaker that enhances experiences at festivals, conventions, museums, amusement parks, and other large-scale events. Students combine emerging technologies, user-centered design, and environmental responsibility to create a sneaker that intelligently guides, connects, and assists its wearer in real time.

Throughout this project, students research real AI and IoT technologies, explore sustainable materials, develop a complete brand identity, create professional footwear concept designs, and present their final concepts to industry mentors—gaining authentic experience in the design thinking process from concept to consumer.
