Mr. Reid Petersen

After graduating from Utah State University with a degree in Advertising Design, Reid Petersen worked as an art director and creative director for 27 years in several Southern California advertising agencies. He is bilingual, speaking both English and Spanish. In 2010 he joined NOCROP and began his career in education, teaching Graphic Design at El Camino Real Continuation High School in Placentia, CA, where he set up Raptor Academy of Printing, Imaging & Design (RAPID), an in-house print shop, and began teaching courses in Design for Digital Print. His accomplishments include being named 2018 NOCROP Employee of the Year and 2020 Teacher of the Year.

Reid joined the Samueli Academy family in 2023 and came onboard in the dual role as School Marketing Director as well as teaching Design IV. He enjoys outdoor activities such as jeeping, hiking, camping, biking and kayaking, and spends his free time with his wife, five children, and their families. His motto: The only way to do great work is to love what you do!
