When I was a junior in high school, I decided I wanted to teach art and teach at the high school level. I grew up in Bakersfield, CA and studied at California State University Bakersfield. I transferred to Humboldt State University, where I completed the majority of my art courses.
I am a professional artist and enjoy crafts, painting, drawing and photography. I taught for 18 years in the Kern High School District in Bakersfield and I am very excited to be part of the team here at Samueli Academy.
For year 26 of teaching, I will oversee the activities program and teach Intro to Design (D1) to freshmen and ASB Leadership. Please let me know if you have any comments, questions or suggestions as we continue to learn and grow on campus.
I live in Newport Beach with my husband and two boys. I can’t wait to see all the wonderful opportunities that the school and Orangewood Foundation have in store for our students this year.
My favorite thing to say is “What’s the worst that can happen?” I think all of us need to take chances and try new things….you never know…YOU MAY FIND SOMETHING NEW!
