Mrs. Mendoza grew up in the area and graduated from Santiago High School. She then attended California State University, Fullerton and received her Bachelor’s of Science in Human Services and double track in Mental Health and Substance Abuse Treatment and Prevention. During undergrad, Ms. Toloza worked as a Youth Development Professional at an elementary school in Fullerton and high school academic tutor in Garden Grove. She then worked as a substitute teacher and began her Master’s Program at California State University, Los Angeles. Mrs. Mendoza studied Marriage and Family Therapy and K-12 School Counseling, and also has a certificate in Child Welfare and Attendance. She has provided family counseling at CSULA’s clinic and school-based family therapy for students in High School in San Gabriel. In addition, she has worked with middle and high school students providing socio-emotional and academic support.
Mrs. Mendoza has a passion for school counseling and mental health. She is proud to support the community she grew up in and strives to help students throughout their academic and personal development. During her free time, Mrs. Mendoza enjoys spending time with her husband, family, friends and two dogs. She also enjoys a good gym session and taking walks.
