Hey there! My name is Samuel Leong and this is my fourth year here at Samueli Academy as one of the high school English teachers. While I was born and raised in San Francisco, I moved down to Southern California for school as I studied English and Asian American Studies at UCLA and went on to get my Masters and teaching credential at UC Irvine.

I am currently the 9th grade English teacher and am excited to work with the freshmen as they enter high school and this new chapter of their lives. Aside from that, I am one of the cross country coaches and alongside Mr. Blake Capper, we’ve helped grow our team to becoming CIF-SS D5 finalists. Lastly, I am the advisor of Key Club, an internationally recognized community service-based organization. Key Club focuses on igniting the service-minded passion within our students and creates ways for us to give back to our local communities.

Outside of school, I love to travel, watch Netflix, read, and drink coffee. If you ever need recommendations on what new show to watch, book to read, or coffee shop to visit, I’ve got plenty to share so feel free to swing by. Looking forward to what this new school year will bring! 🙂
