Mr. Ken Cummings

Mr. Cummings began officiating and coaching youth sports while in high school, which is where he developed an interest in working with young people. He went on to study Kinesiology at San Jose State University and later earned his Single-Subject Teaching Credential in Physical Education from CSU Long Beach. He recently completed his Master’s Degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University. Before becoming a Firewolf,  he worked as a Physical Education teacher, Basketball and Volleyball Coach, and through a Municipal Sports and Recreation program, overseeing a Sports Center. He is passionate about creating opportunities for students to grow as leaders, teammates, and individuals through athletics. He believes sports are not just about winning, but about building character, learning resilience, and finding joy in the process. His goal is to make sure every student-athlete at Samueli Academy feels supported, challenged, and inspired to reach their full potential.
