I was born and raised in Oakland, CA. I attended the University of California, Irvine, and graduated with a B.A in Sociology. After graduating, I served in City Year as an AmeriCorps member tutoring 9th graders in Downtown LA for a year and then taught 6/7 math in Oakland the year after that. Realizing that teaching was my calling, I started a teaching residency with Aspire Public Schools. I received my M.A in Education and teaching credential with the University of the Pacific. I taught physics in Huntington Park for 2 years. I will be entering my 3rd year at Samueli Academy doing what I love most: teaching science!
