Design Pathway
Fashion Futures
Fashion Futures at Samueli Academy challenged Design pathway students to explore a powerful question: Do clothes really make the person? Working in collaborative teams, we developed original clothing brands from the ground up—defining our brand DNA, core values, artistic influences, and social purpose. Each brand was shaped by a unique perspective on identity, culture, and self-expression, supported by thoughtful research into history, music, and sustainable practices. As a final outcome, every student designed and constructed an outfit that not only embodied the essence of their brand, but also reflected their individual personality. The project culminated in a fashion show where these final looks were presented to an audience of students, families, and community members, highlighting how fashion can communicate meaning, tell stories, and connect the personal to the collective.
